Base painting of the vintage movie poster for ''Dinner at Eight'', a 1933 American pre-Code comedy-drama film directed by George Cukor and based on the play of the same name by George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber. The film is known for its ensemble cast and its witty and sophisticated script.
The story revolves around a dinner party that is to be hosted by the socialite Millicent Jordan, played by Billie Burke. Millicent is planning a grand event, and the guest list includes a mix of characters from various social classes and backgrounds.
Jean Harlow portrays Kitty Packard, a brash and wealthy woman married to a business tycoon. Kitty's husband, Dan Packard, played by Wallace Beery, is involved in shady business deals. As the dinner preparations unfold, secrets, infidelities, and personal crises come to light among the guests.
